BEAUTIFUL

You are beautiful from head to toe, my dear love, beautiful beyond compare, absolutely flawless. Song of Solomon 4:7 The Message Bible

Do you think you are beautiful? Be honest with yourself. What were your thoughts when you woke up this morning and saw yourself in the mirror? Did you think, "Wow I am really beautiful!" Most of you probably did not have that thought. You may have made internal comments that did little to convince yourself of your natural and spiritual God given beauty.

I wanted to start this blog to help fight the internal and external battles we face as women in this century. There are deceptions which face us daily from many places. First of all , the world says you must look a certain way, have certain hairstyles, wear specific fashions, and be a particular size and weight to be considered beautiful. This lie will keep you running and striving to fit into a mold you may never fit into and that was never intended for you.

Secondly, because your eyes and ears are windows to your soul, you will start believing all of the dishonesty around you. This is why you must be very careful to guard what you allow ourselves to focus and meditate on. If you spend your time reading Vogue magazines and other similar literature, the images in those resources will be recorded in our minds. Also, we must protect our senses from what we view on television and movies.

However, if you spend time thinking about what God says about you, then you will begin to believe the truth. The reality is that you are called beautiful by God. Now if your Father says you are beautiful, then why not believe it? You must live by what God says about you. If you live by the measuring sticks of the world, you will be in tormenting conflict and will never realize the full potential of who you really are.

You have an enemy who wants you to believe you are not lovely. He does not want you to really know what God says about you. So he places all types of counterfeit information to keep you busy working to be who you are not. If he can keep you distracted, then you will never live abundantly and fulfilled in Christ.

Maybe you have been wounded from your past. You have listened, believed, and received word arrows spoken by people close to you. Maybe someone made comments about your nose or your size. God wants to heal you and help you to start believing that He calls you beautiful. Here are some words from Him to you. Ponder them and know that the Lord is dazzled by you. He is captured by your essence and HE cannot take His eyes off of you. Find this hard to believe? Well, it is all spelled out.

Oh my dear friend! You are so beautiful! And your eyes so beautiful-like doves! (Song of Solomon 1:15 (The Message Bible)

Let me see your face, let me hear your voice. For your voice is soothing and your face is ravishing. (Song of Solomon 2:14) The Message Bible

You are so beautiful my darling, so beautiful, and your doves eyes are veiled. Song of Solomon 4:1 (The Message Bible)

Your beauty is too much for me-I'm in over my head. Son of Solomon 6:5 (The Message Bible)

There is no one like her on earth, never has been, never will be. Son of Solomon 6:1 (The Message Bible)

Did you know that God says these things about you? Yes you. There is no one like you. Never has been and never will be. He is drawn to your beauty and He wants you to know it. Find all of this a bit tough to chew? Maybe so. But it is the truth. May you find confidence, peace, and security as you absorb His words of affection. You are a beautiful woman for he has called you just that....beautiful and ravishing.
